UPDATE: AARP had the option to show up with details, facts and figures to defend the AARP ‘leadership’ position of supporting the ObamaCare package. Especially since the second event was quieter and more orderly than the first (though the debate strength was very one-sided). The proper thing to do is go in and cram for the next series and be armed with facts, figures and logic to win people over to supporting the Administration’s position. Instead, they did this:

I guess they can’t actually handle the rank and file thinking for themselves.
===============================================
The AARP ‘leadership’ certainly doesn’t seem to be well representing their rank and file these days. Especially since their spokespeople don’t seem to be old enough to even be in the organization. Well, they seem to have crossed the line this time with the membership; but remember, it’s all because of those evil Mobsters out there (kudos to vvanshel for the excellent video work):

Bravo! You all deserve the very best and I am personally glad to see that the silent majority is silent no more. As far as AARP is concerned, they have become advocates for a socialistic takeover of America and not advocates for seniors.

Notice no one really explains what the threats actually are to their “liberty” and “freedom”, just vague complaints about of a government conspiracy taking these things away…how exactly? Danny Glover? wtf?!?
Also, anyone who has briefly perused the facts pertaining to the rampant growth health care expenditures understands that the current system IS unsustainable without some sort of reforms, so an immediate disagreement with such a basic statement such as “something has to be done” reveals either ignorance or politics at work.
So either these people have an agenda, or are underinformed about the issue…but it’s clear (at least as far as I can gather from this edited video) that they are very frightened of any sort of change from the status quo, enough where they can’t even take the statement about AARP not supporting any specific legislation or politician (from multiple spokespeople) at face value.

Vince, try 53 new departments including ones that will determine which medical procedures will be allowed under the public plan and all ‘qualified’ private plans (unqualified ones will be almost unattainable). A bureaucrat, not my doctor deciding this? That single thing is a big loss of freedom.
Quoting the specific problems would take day, so let’s try a couple links to try to wrap your brain around:
Bullet points and the details of just one; Sec. 401. And a real killer on Page 16.
ANd if AARP is not supporting this legislation, why are their spokespeople pitching it as they clearing intended to do here?
